Filipino-Dutch Azkals member Jason de Jong signed with Sriwijaya Football Club in the Indonesian Super League, according to a story posted in the Sriwijaya Post website.

Born in Breda, The Netherlands, De Jong is the Azkals' mid-fielder and is one of the team's bankable stars. He was an important piece in the Askals' dominating 2-0 win against Mongolia in the team's first home game held in Bacolod last week.

De Jong previously played for Dutch Eredivise side NAC Breda and KV Turnhout FC in Belgium's second division.

But a source said that De Jong remains committed to the Azkals and that he will be readily available for the squad’s tournaments, including the team's second match against Mongolia in the qualifying stage of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup next month in Ulan Bator.

"He is still prioritizing the Azkals," the source said of De Jong, who at 20 years old is eligible to represent the country in the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This is not the first time that an Azkal member got an offer elsewhere. The Younghusband brothers, Phil and James, and Aly Borromeo are also being lured to join the Indonesian league.
