MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-British Azkals goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has been called back by Fulham from his loan spell at Charlton Athletic Football Club, a report said on Monday.
According to Charlton Athletic's official website, Etheridge was recalled after he was an unused substitute for the Addicks for 2 consecutive game days.
"Philippines international goalkeeper Neil Etheridge arrived at The Valley on loan ahead of last Tuesday's match at Milton Keynes Dons," the report said.
"The 21-year-old was an unused substitute that night, and was also on the bench as Charlton lost 1-0 to Brentford at The Valley on Saturday."
Etheridge is a reserve goalie at Fulham.
The Filipino-British announced on his Twitter account last Tuesday that he has been loaned to Charlton.
He was supposed to play for a month at Charlton, which is in a lower-tier league in England.
Etheridge will not see action in the Azkals' AFC Challenge Cup match against the Mongolian Blue Wolves on Tuesday.
Eduard Sacapaño took his place in the game to be held in Ulan Bator.
The Philippines-Mongolia match will be shown LIVE March 15 (Tuesday), 12 noon on Studio 23, with a replay at 7p.m. The match will also be shown 3 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable Ch. 34.
